Ordination

Friday, August 28 was a special day for our diocese, as two local Anglicans were ordained to serve God and the Church in new ways. The Reverend Terry Francis, ordained as a deacon, lives near Colinton and worships at All Saints', Athabasca. He is starting a new role as the half-time deacon in charge, at St John's United-Anglican Church, Manning. Watch out for Terry's truck passing through town as he travels between work and home each month! The Reverend David Greenwood has been a deacon for over 10 years at St Thomas' Fort McMurray. For him, this ordination marked a transition into ministry as a priest. He currently works at Syncrude and will continue to offer non-stipendiary ministry in Fort McMurray.

St. James' Lower-Hall:

The very anticipated Grand Re-opening of the St. James Cathedral Lower-Hall happened on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Thanks to Sue Bowling and everyone who helped with food and cleanup. It was a very happy celebration of an amazing transformation! A BIG thank you goes to all who worked very hard and dedicated their time on the restoration, and also to those who donated or helped raise funds to bring back the Lower-Hall!
