Greeters
Greeters, well, they greet! They are the welcoming committee at the back of the church, there to great all comers, new and old. They make sure everyone has everything they need to participate in the service. They assist in the service itself by bringing the wine and bread to the altar at the appropriate time during the service and for passing the offering plates on their way back. They then return the collection to the altar during the offertory hymn. A list of duties can be found at the back of the church and training is available if you would like some help. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board at the back of the church if you are interested in helping out.
Coffee Makers
Coffee makers should arrive at the hall by 10:00 to start the coffee brewing before the 10:30 service. This involves starting up the big coffee urn and putting the tea water on at a low heat. This ensures all is at the ready for fellowship time after the service. Not sure how to make coffee in the big urn? Don’t be shy, an experienced coffee maker would love to show you how! Sign up sheet is in the lower hall if you are interested in helping out.
Choir
Our choir practises on Wednesday nights after the 7 p.m. Service and they, together with the organist, lead the music at the 10:30 service.
We also have a group contemporary musicians for play for us about once a month. Both groups are always looking for and welcome new members. There is no need to audition for our choir, feel free to join in the practises or contact the Dean for further information.
Servers
Servers are responsible for assisting the priest during the service. They light the candles prior to the service, and carry the cross in front of the choir during the procession. They assist with the preparations for the Eucharist and extinguish the candles at the end of the service. Youth and adults are both welcome to this ministry. Please contact the Dean regarding some training prior to taking this on.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild sets up the Eucharistic services by putting out the wine and wafers and making sure all the correct vessels are available for the priest. They also keep the Chancel area clean, and take care of the linens, candles, vessels and the stock of wine and wafers. If you are interested in helping out on the occasional weekend, please contact the Dean.
Anglican Church Women
